Abstract:A new protocol was introduced for data transmission based on network coding in Vehicular ad hoc networks(VANGTs).The protocol prioritized candidate vehicles by its location. After applying network coding to packets, each coded packets carry information of next hop vehicle and complete selection of next hop forwarder. In this way,the vehicle with least forwarding cost was chosen as next forwarder. Meanwhile, the ratio between received and transmitted packets was presented,it was used to transmitting counter, and inhibit the occurrence of duplicate packet.Simulation results show that the protocol achieves higher performance that existing vehicular opportunistic forward protocols.
