Abstract:The ZrW2O8-ZrSiO4 ceramic composites were successfully prepared by using the traditional solid-phase synthesis method in volume ratio of 1∶1.The specimens of fracture surface, phases and thermal expansion properties were characterized by way of scanning electron microscope (SEM),X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and thermal mechanical analysis (TMA),respectively. The results show that the optimum sintering temperature and sintering time of the composite material are 1 200 ℃ and 8 h,respectively. There is none chemical reaction taking place during the sintering process, and so the composite only contains ZrSiO4and ZrW2O8 phase. The average thermal expansion coefficient is -0.77*10-6K-1from 25 ℃ to 300 ℃.
