Abstract:The bearing capacity of clay foundation is effected by the non-homogeneity and anisotropy of clays. Based on energy theory of limit analysis and discrete method, the equation of bearing capacity of foundation was deduced by establishing the corresponding discrete model which was similar to Prandtl model. Based on fortran calculation program of discrete method, the desired solution of bearing capacity of strip foundation in non-homogeneous and anisotropic clays was carried out. The case analysis shows that the results are basically consistent with other methods, and are good agreement with the experimental results. The parameter sensitivity analysis indicates that the bearing capacity of foundation are changed with different inhomogeneous coefficients and with different anisotropic coefficients, and the two relationships are linear approximately.
