Abstract:A novel FePO4 photocatalyst was prepared via a facile hydrothermal-precipitation method. The properties of the photocatalyst were characterized by UV- visible diffuse reflectance spectrum etc. The results show that its absorption band edge is about 450 nm. Besides, there is a good response to visible light. It only took 100 min to completely degrade 100 mL of rhodamine B dyes (0.1 mol/L) under visible light irradiation (λ 420 nm), and by the photocatalytic activity of FePO4 under irradiation of monochromatic visible-light learn that the photocatalytic efficiency is owing to the intrinsic photocatalytic performance of FePO4 in degradation of rhodamine B dyes under visible-light irradiation.
